NDT
HPF has a complete DESTRUCTIVE and NONDESTRUCTIVE test lab with many special process approvals for a variety of capabilities.
Thread Rolling
HPF HAS ONE OF THE LARGEST THREAD ROLL CAPABILITIES IN THE INDUSTRY.
Rolled thread sizes range from 4-40 up to 5 inches in diameter.
Statistical Process Control with Johnson Gages is used to verify nominal dimensions of the minor, major and pitch diameters. HPF holds several “special process” approvals for thread roll including for fracture critical designs.
CNC machinig
CNC lathe and mill work covers a wide range of processes including machining the head, lightening hole, dove tail recess, chamfer, drill head and or shank and many other special features specified by customer design.
Heat treated bolts typically require centerless grind which includes rough grind of the shank diameter and thread diameter ( TD ) followed by CNC work before returning for finish grind of the shank and TD. This brings the part to finish diameter dimensions.
